VIDEO: Bednar brings Czech tillage engineering into Australia

Czech Republic based agricultural equipment company Bednar has just introduced its machinery range into the country and what better way to gain exposure than exhibiting at the country’s largest agricultural field days, AgQuip.

The company recently had its SWIFTERDISC XE 10000 10 metre disc cultivator out on display at its Australian distributor FarmTech’s stand at the field days.

According to Bednar, the trailed wide disc cultivator feature individual suspended discs with rubber segments which make the machine ready for high quality, swift and inexpensive post-harvest stubble cultivation or seedbed preparation.

Bednar rep Juraj Školka, who flew in all the way from Slovakia, says the cultivator is the first of its kind in the country.

“First of all, it has a very unique folding technology. When it is folded into transport position it has a 3 metre transport width which is very important for bringing it out on the road,” he says.

“Another feature to point out is the position of the discs. We have two discs on one tyne which makes material flow much easier.”

The profiling of the discs is also a unique feature that Školka says set the machine apart from the rest.

“The (disc) profile on this machine has small pockets which grabs the soil easier and mixes it together with the mulch material,” he says.

Behind the two rows of discs lie several rollers for compaction of the soil to retain moisture in the grounds.
